There are two types of these essential nutrients, there are those which are Fat-soluble and then there are those which are Water-soluble. Vitamin C and all the 7 types of Vitamin B are Water-soluble vitamins. The remaining vitamins A, D, E, and K are Fat-soluble.


Out of which only two are prepared in our bodies (Vitamin D and K). The remaining of the vitamins “MUST” be ingested by natural foods or supplements.

Biotin” is a coenzyme and a water-soluble B-vitamin. There are total of 9 types of B-vitamins, out of which the 7th type of the vitamin referred to as vitamin B7 is attributed to as biotin.


Vitamin-B complex:

  • B-1 (Thiamine) – essential for the breakdown of carbohydrates in the body.
  • B-2 (Riboflavin) – necessary for the decomposition of Carbohydrates, Amino acids, fats into Glucose.
  • B-3 (Niacin) – (plays a vital role) in human. Helps in the nervous and digestive system.
  • B-5 (Pantothenic acid) – helpful in the process of converting food into useful energy.
  • B-6 (Pyridoxine) – Used as medicine in various fields.
  • B-7 (Biotin) – vital to maintain a robust and calm nervous system, plays a crucial role in the metabolism process. And helps in many other pharmaceutical purposes as well.
  • B-9 (Folic acid) – used in supplements of various sorts and is essential for the reconstruction of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid).
  • B-12 (Cobalamin) – Aids the bodies nerve and blood cells to remain healthy and has a rather important role in the construction of DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid)


Vitamin B-7 is termed Biotin and is formerly known as “Vitamin-H”.

What is Biotin specifically used for?


Vitamin B-7 is vital for cell growth, production of fatty acids and metabolism of fats and amino acids. Biotin can be found in our everyday foods. In fact we intake this regularly from natural foods, some of the foods are listed below:

  • cheese
  • avocados
  • organ meats (liver and kidneys)
